The 400k Dollar Question

They actually hold the title till 2 yeas have passed? Or you mean the figuratively that they will sue you if you try to sell?
Looking at the affidavit, the specific details of how the 24 month ownership requirement is implemented isn't clear to me. I doubt Ford or the dealer will actually hold the title. for a cash purchase I expect the buyer to hold the title as per normal state laws. Then there is a purchase contract provision that limits resale and or provides some type of first right of refusal.

In general, the Concierge held the title in Michigan with Ford Credit listed as a non-monetary lien-holder. The lien and title were released at the conclusion of the 24 months.

There's a non-financial lien on the title so you can't sell it within the restricted period. When the restricted period burns off, they send a lien release (or a new title--I can't remember which). But it's basically a non-issue if you're not trying to circumvent the non-sale period.

Interesting. Have not heard of a non financial lien before. Would that vary by state? Or are all cars to be titled in Michigan? Seems that would get complicated for tax and registration.

Charging people $500 so that you can make $15 grand?? IMO Anyone that pays anything at all in dealer fees for these allocations needs their head examined.......

Your "dealer fee" is $15,000. Trying to squeeze another $500 out of the buyer is not a good look.
It's not that we are trying to squeeze any more money out of anyone. Our Doc Fee is $498 REGARDLESS of what you buy. It can be a $30,000 escape or a $350,000 Mustang. The problem is that if we pick and choose who pays Doc Fee, we open ourselves up for liability. I can (and will) discount the car by that same $498. But so I don't get into hot water, I have to itemize it on paperwork. It's not a money thing to us. We just want to help other people, even if they don't use us as their dealer. 👊

I thought the whole thing about it being a law was horseshit, but I googled it and there is indeed a florida law that says it.

I stand corrected

Its interesting, because a dealer that I deal with alot usually lowers them or waives them entirely on my deals. I guess I wont identify them as I dont want to cause them any trouble. Or maybe they do like you mentioned and reduce the price to offset the fee. I usually only focus on the "out the door" number so im not sure which way they actually do it.....

I would think it should be ok on that especially knowing where the mics are.

Here's one driver's attempt to re-direct sound from the LS track microphones that I've seen.

Im excited we are getting closer! Appreciate all the color in here.

My ideal spec is PTS Carbon w/ perf pack. But may get rid of the carbon option once I understand better. Is it really just exposed diffuser and front splitter?

The Carbon series seems to include a lot of carbon... from what I understand it includes exposed hood, roof, tech deck, and wing as well as all of the lower pieces ... front and rear diffusers and side skirts in carbon instead of some kind of black plastic that is stock. It also may include the rear trunk panel that feeds the trans cooler in back in carbon as well. This info is based entirely on the press releases for the carbon seeies car and a bit of deduction based on seeing a few base vehicles (which are all missing any lower carbon parts).

I am leaning towards the same kind of spec. The car looks so much more like a 325k+ car with the exposed carbon bits. If you cannot get the carbon lower parts without the carbon series, it will be a no trainer for me. GTD just doesn't look the same without at least the lower carbon bits.

I agree that it will not look like $325k without some exposed carbon fiber. I would really like the carbon stripes with the performance pack, but I really don't want to be over $400K. The base car is a stretch for me, but I guess in for a penny in for a pound.

I’d be fine with performance pack and just the wing being in carbon like the gt500 had for the track pack.

I was thinking I did not like the color option for brake calipers. Hope they allow for changes. Not sure expected engagement date, but I have been looking at property and this has put a freeze on it for me, more firm dates would really help.

willing to bet they will PTS the calipers for a price but I could be wrong.

i'd want all the cool tech. so that's where i'd put the extra money, it would likely pay off down the road for resale too. i'd just go with a standard colour and i wouldn't want all the sound deadening removed. it would be fun to track it once in a while but...

I really struggled when deciding on Weissach pkg when I speed my RS (seemed very expensive at the time), and now I can't imagine my car without it. Carbon fiber is expensive, but the visual statement it makes is important on a car like the GTD (that is based upon a car at a much lower price point). The exposed carbon makes it look more like a 400k+ car.

I am not crazy about what it costs, but I feel it is a car that benefits from the exposed carbon look (because of how wide the side skirts and how deep both diffusers are, and the massive and wide nature of the hood, carbon covers a lot of surface area).

You make a valid point.
