Alright, it’s still early, we don’t know much about pricing but I keep trying to guess at what each package will cost. This is a complete shot in the dark. So for starters the performance pack. I think this will be the heavy hitter and will cost 35-40k. The carbon series I’m guessing should be around 25k only because most of the carbon is already there. They just need to add the bumpers/splitters and some interior items so that’s my guess. 1 of 1 paint option lock out I’m guessing $5000 not including the paint but just to lock your choice. What’s your thoughts?

Performance: $35-40k
Carbon Series: $25k
Paint Lock: $5,000

Paint (color lock) is going to be way MORE than you think.

The lock out for the GT was 5 times this. Oh and the special color selection started at 6 times your 5k. So in theory 10times your estimate. The carbon package for GT was 70k (including wheels and exhaust).
Your estimate didn’t include Magnesium wheels.

With the GT costing twice as much maybe the options for the GTD will also be less. I’m hoping that is the case but time will tell.

Doesn’t the package for performance come with mag wheels? Or can you get that package without?

I think the real question to ask is what options are really going to be worth the price of admission. Which of these options will actually add enough value to the car to justify the investment? Performance package I would think yes but the color lock and custom color is just cosmetic. Have the value of the color locked GTs proven to be worth the investment?

I’m mainly interested in what makes the car amazing to drive so the one of a kind color being only cosmetic would need to have an impact on the car somehow. I guess the visual impact could be considered significant but I also believe any of us willing to spend the money these will cost would also consider the impact on the investment as well.

I'm hoping some day soon we get a option list and answer these questions. I was headed out of town to look at some houses in the mountains when this email popped up, I have held my offers on these places so I could have the cash for car. What timing.

Just to complete my earlier thought, I suspect a lot of people will choose a base car with performance package because it gets you into a max performance car with the most reasonable price. Weissach with mag wheels is $38k. GTD is going to be similar. The important thing to me is that you'll be able to get a car that offers the maximum performance capabilities of the model for well under $400k.

The Carbon Series is not as bad as it was on GT (which was $70k) but it's not cheap. All the stuff is carbon anyways it's just a matter of it being exposed or not. ECP is same range as GT which was $25k-45k. So if you're looking to do a Carbon Series + Performance Package + ECP car, such as the Holographic Blue car that was at Pebble Beach, you are well into the $400s. For some they won't care. I don't really think the price is super out of line with the market (I didn't realize PTS had jumped all the way to $21k and $43k for PTS Plus), but as the price climbs it's going to make a lot of people less likely to drive it.

Black or white car, performance pack, pick a caliper color and go hammer it.

Thoughts on performance pack without mag wheels? Just curious if these are going to be worth it. I remember and see a lot of the gt500 carbon wheels selling for almost as much as the entire cftp option cost. A lot wouldn’t even run these on the track. So I Wonder if these wheels are worth the investment weather you use them or store them or even sell down the road

Wouldn't be super concerned about the wheels either way. I expect a lot people who order Mag wheel specs to end up with aluminum sets anyways.

Thank you for the responses. You seem to know a great deal on these cars and have a good insight. Much appreciated

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think the mag wheels can be repaired if scraped or curbed

I wonder if we'll be able to get the car in a full exposed carbon like the GT. I know it's a more expensive and in-depth process to get a perfect exposed carbon finish so maybe it's unlikely.

Concerning the Performance Pack I couldn't imagine ordering the car without this and the Mag wheels.

I may be wrong but I think a couple panels are not full carbon.

The GTD doors are not carbon but you can creatively utilize painted gradient to get out of that. I'm not sure how many customers will want to pay the kind of money required to make it worth it for the plant to do it. They were not huge fans of doing it for the GT.

The cost of the fully exposed body on the GT was $248,000, and it didn't include any kind of distinct interior or other options. I consider it subjectively worth it on GT because the car is art that I would hang on the wall even if it didn't move. When I saw my car in the plant, it had a dummy buttress panel on one side. It took them 9 panels before they finally approved one. They were extremely meticulous about matching weave direction with flawless panels where possible, and there is no guarantee you will ever get a new matching panel should you need one. Eek.

I would put Multimatic's carbon work against anyone in the world, and I've seen things from Hypercar manufacturers MM would have never let leave. Even a "regular" painted GT panel is typically flawless underneath, as GTD panels will be.
