Preferences Communication

Eh. I've never owned a Ford in my life. This is not like the rolex experience at all.
You had to have owned something, either a GT or a history of Ford ownership OR some high end competing car to have been considered. They didn't hand these allocations out to Joe blow off the street.

I had to buy a submariner, then got a root beer GMT, and then the 18K yellow GMT, and i still can't get a Daytona.....

You should go see Moses on 47th st in NY. I got a Hulk and a 41 datejust from him not too long ago. He usually has several brand new Daytonas, including gold or pandas on hand, at better prices than an AD........

And the root beer is a keeper. Nice watch!

Thanks. I assume he's a grey market seller? If it's the youtube guy, he has quite the shop. ADs sell at MSRP. Are you saying he sells new at below list?

Nice find on the Hulk. A very desirable watch.

As for gold Daytonas, I had one in my hand, at an AD, 18K white gold but passed on it. I had already bought my rootbeer, an oyster perpetual for my wife and another for a friend that day.

For me, the Daytona spec has to be a steel Panda or the Le Mans winner spec (Oyster Steel, black bezel and dial). I toyed with the two tone yellow gold Rolex24 winner's spec, but it's not for me. Too fancy. I think the Daytona is a drivers watch (technically a tool watch), not a dress watch.

So anyway, has anybody been contacted yet to beging the ordering process?

It's definitely less than 50 people total at this point, so odds are low.

Anybody know anything about interior options/packages? Like can you get a carbon interior without a carbon series? Colors?

It would be helpful to have all that info. Not sure if it is that Ford doesn't know yet or if they consider all of this confidential.

I don't know what I can or can't share at this point, so I suggest that anyone reach out to the concierge to ask specific questions. I think as we get closer, more info will be shared.

I am not resentful about how this is going down, but it does make it very difficult to plan and adjust things on short notice. Point being I don't want to start moving a bunch of money around or have to sell a vehicle (if I have to, again I don't have enough info) on short notice when they reach out and inform me of my window opening.

If Ford is reading this, please reach out to us with approximate slots for all those who responded with the preference sheets. I selected "ASAP". I really think it would be difficult to get a few days notice or a week or whatever.

Again, not complaining, but I hope some more essential information is forthcoming.

from what i understand it is carbon fibre trim throughout the interior. from nearly 6 months ago:

This Is What a $325K Ford Mustang GTD Interior Looks Like

Ford the Manufacturer is making the allocation decision, as opposed to Ford Dealers (i.e. Rolex AD's) making their determination of allocating inventory.

The Ford Franchise Dealers, as far as I know, are not making the allocation decisions.

So, IMHO, the watch analogy / scenario is not the same.

You had to provide application, there was a list, there was a criteria needed to be allowed to purchase and they have a strict no flipping policy. Sounds familiar to me. Not complaining but I do see some similarities

I received a call from the concierge team today. The gave me some good information regarding questions I had submitted. It was from an unknown number so keep your eyes open for a call if you submitted questions.

It wasnt a comparison of Rolex ADs to Ford. It was more a conversation about the policy some companies have where you have to buy 2 Xs and 2 Ys before you are "permitted" to buy a Z. I was directing it more at Ferrari and Porsche, and I'm glad that Ford is not doing that.

But I didnt mean to derail the thread or anything........

Thanks for posting the video, Iconic GT!

It was fun to get the chance to meet, drive, and hang out with Shmee on the Arizona Rally. I met up with a couple other Ford GT owners and we drove my black stripe delete '06 GT out there from CA, since it's fairly close. Just a few hundred dollars in premium gas, instead of the tens of thousands of dollars it likely cost to ship from London to AZ. Shmee is a genuine enthusiast.

Had an absolutely amazing time with our Rally Friends and Family. And Multimatic bringing the fire with the Ford GT Mark IV. What a dedicated crew and a beast of a track machine.

After purchasing the GTD with the options I want, I think even your model FGT will be a stretch for the old wallet.

Basically looking at least 50k more than I thought it would be with options without going crazy on color. I encourage you guys to reach out to Concierge if interested in ECP (extended color pallet). I got more info on it, which I can't post unfortunately, but can say it is significantly more expensive than I expected (ranges from ouch to there goes a kidney). They gave me a good amount of info on the phone and now I have to figure out how much I really want my color of choice.

Yea, it looks like a color choice of 6. If this was a GT, that might be a different story.
