Preferences Communication

Seems things should be available for us to know what we want and how much that's gonna cost. This isn't buying a used car whereas you get what you get. We have options.

They are going to deliver a small number of pre-Job 1 cars that were spec'd with limited options to dealers that were awarded via lottery. They've only contacted a very tiny number of people outside of that at this point.

The options are pretty much what we've discussed here. As of right now there were a couple things that went away and a couple things that got added but it's nothing crazy. The biggest thing that will take time is the various paint/stripe combos. You can get black roof, black roof and hood, black roof and hood with body color accent stripe, black roof and hood with deviated accent color stripe, body color roof, body color roof with accent stripe, carbon roof, etc. There's a lot of ways to spec the aesthetic.

I'm sure it will all end up online soon.

I’m a total spec’ing dork. I’ve already built countless ideas for a car from another manufacturer that won’t come around until the 2026 MY😅 With the GTD configurator being locked until our build slot comes around, I may need to take a few days off of work when that happens just so I can play in the configurator non-stop to arrive at my final spec!

Regarding "They are going to deliver a small number of pre-Job 1 cars that were spec'd with limited options to dealers that were awarded via lottery.", where do you suppose those cars will end up? I assume these dealers will have to hold their cars for 2 years also before allowed to sell them. Maybe some will get driven, but I expect most to get displayed in the showroom to draw in customers till their hold time expires. Will be interesting to see what the ADM will be then.

Who knows. Dealers will own them personally. To many dealers it’s a trivial amount of money so I assume they will keep them, but undoubtedly some will sell them as a super duper special piece of history 😂

Will there be just one special edition or is there plan for more than one?

At present there is one special edition.

I know of one dealer who claims to have an allocation AND he's sold the car already to some other (non-Ford) dealer... Have to wonder if this is BS or perhaps the 2-year rule doesn't apply to dealers?

Just be glad it isnt like Ferrari or Porsche where they would make you buy 2 Mach Es, 2 Escapes, and an Expedition in order to get your allocation lol.........
I had to buy a submariner, then got a root beer GMT, and then the 18K yellow GMT, and i still can't get a Daytona.....

I think so far I have had to express an extraordinary interest in Ford Performance products to be considered for the GTD. I have owned 4 GT350s, 3 of which are Rs, and a CFTP 500. Oh, and i track them.

So i am sorry I missed the FGT opportunity, but the whole process is much like the rolex experience..... a reward based upon performance and loyalty.

Eh. I've never owned a Ford in my life. This is not like the rolex experience at all.

Sometimes it’s how much the dealer likes you and how much interest you show. This is very much like the Rolex experience. Sometimes if someone has the right credentials, they can walk in and get a very difficult watch. You must have listed the right things for Ford to allocate. Which is just like going into a Rolex dealer wearing a Richard Mille or a Patek. They know you’re not a flipper and you take your watch purchases seriously. JMO
