Actually to the contrary, this IS the forum you should be active in if you truly want a GTD. With that being said, more than just posting, I’d recommend attending races and events. This will not guarantee an allocation, but get you noticed and give you serious contention.Well this forum made me realize that I have no shot at all being chosen for an allocation. So the mystichrome GTD allocation dreams ends for me. I’ll still apply for the heck of it any way.
I think it’s a little too early to give up. I went to 22 GT/Ford events in 24 months and “the powers that be” noticed. Not to mention I had the most fun I’ve ever had in my life chasing the dream of the GT and I made the best friends a man could ever ask for. As far as the mystichrome paint scheme goes I’d probably give that up. I spoke with the lead designer of the GTD at the reveal in Vegas and I’m pretty sure he said mystichrome was too hard to paint and that wasn’t going to be an option but never say never they did a GT in mystichrome.Well this forum made me realize that I have no shot at all being chosen for an allocation. No official events have been announced, but when they are, you’ll hear about them on this forum first. The old Bald Eagle and myself were in your shoes for the GT application process and we were both shot down (pun intended to the Bald Eagle) on the first round. We persisted and both were awarded a car on the second round. Looking back, the most fun and excitement was the journey!I appreciate the advice, where can I find a list of upcoming events ? Even if I don’t get a GTD allocation from it, my dad and I would have a lot of fun seeing some amazing cars pushed to there limits.
I’ll take any color , I would definitely check off the PTS color option.
After seeing some pretty impressive people get turned down for the Ford GT just seems impossible to be chosen.
Would be amazing to get a allocation, my dad is supposed to receive his Porsche GT3RS allocation in the near future and the videos I would make with the GTD and GT3RS would be a blast.
Once again thanks for the advice GTD allocation or not the events would be a lot of fun to attend
I don’t think that would be necessary, they’ve got a pretty good idea of who does what with social media and racing events around the country. It’s kinda obvious when you look at two different applicants’ social media pages and one has numerous posts with their cars out and about versus another’s cars in the same garage or no posts at all. I always say chasing the last GT was my biggest adventure that lasted 5 years. Only true enthusiasts would devote that kind of time, money, and effort.I wonder if Ford could sell these with a Proof of Usage requirement ... a min of X miles per year; maybe submit a pic of your ODO each of the first 2 years, with your title, registration or coin in the pic. Assuming miles is a goal.
Well, maybe a pain / expensive to remind, collect, review and enforce.
Not sure sure that I would arrive at that first conclusion currently.Well this forum made me realize that I have no shot at all being chosen for an allocation. So the mystichrome GTD allocation dreams ends for me. I’ll still apply for the heck of it any way.
I'm crossing my fingersNot sure sure that I would arrive at that first conclusion currently.
As of August 26, 2023, there are approximately 75 members in this friendly and newly crafted forum.
One of the preliminary speculation estimates is that perhaps approximately 2,000 GTDs may be built. (Not official and subject to change).
Additionally, I don't think the intent of this forum is to scare off anyone intent on applying for an allocation.

Like the others said above, it's too early to throw in the towel. If it's meant to be, it'll be.... One thing is for sure, quitting before getting started with the process will almost certainly result in no allocation.I appreciate the advice, where can I find a list of upcoming events ? Now you get it....focus on the "journey", not necessarily the destination! After gathering information from other forum members and browsing ford gt forums,I have come to realize that there are ways to improve my chances of getting a GTD allocation, such as attending upcoming events. I regret my previous statement and will make sure to explore these opportunities to increase my likelihood of being selected even doe it’s slim . I plan on going to Le Mans as well. Even if I don't get an allocation, I'll still have a lot of fun attending the events. My brother, nephew, and dad will accompany me to some of the events too. So, allocation or not, it's going to be a lot of fun dreaming about it.
Wow ... that's awesomeNever say never, I applied and was rejected twice for the NGT. In the summer of 2021, I had decided I was not going to pay retail and purchased a 911GT3 RS. The following week I received a call from Michigan, thought it was spam, decided to answer because I had a Bronco on order and thought the call could be related to the Bronco, turned out it was Ford Performance who said they had a buyer fall through and a NGT was available if I wanted it (I did). Still can't believe that happened.
