Will PPF affect the look of carbon fiber?
When I asked the installer he was kind of vague with his answer.
Lou

Nope, the lowers on our NGT looks just fine. Also have seen a liquid carbon GT that has been wrapped, it too looks just fine.

Will you be doing PPF in the Keys? Or Miami area?

Clear Gloss PPF over gloss carbon enhances depth and shine- my opinion it looks great!

Matte Clear PPF is another option for certain color combinations

The shop that did our GT500 is in Boca Raton, Auto Super Shield. They do a lot of high end cars.
I would like to find a reputable shop in Miami or the Keys. Do you know of one?
Thanks,
Lou

Brandon at Hugh's Detailing. He has done a few cars for me and for some friends. Well regarded.

I just got done reading the reviews on Hugh's Detailing and I'm pretty convinced that I found a new place. I'm going to do full car PPF.
It's a lot closer than Boca, which makes a big difference as I'm having it towed (it won't fit between the fenders like our GT500 in our toy hauler; so I'm having to build ramps over the fenders, and my welder friend won't start until we have the car in front of us).
Ford contacted me today and my delivery date is Sunday March 8th at 9 AM.
Thank you for the recommendation.
I'm going to visit their shop on Monday and talk with Brandon.
I'll report back Monday evening. Where are you located?
Do you have a GTD or one on the way?
Thanks again,
Lou

I'm in Miami. Have vin.
I will speak with a few friends later today and get some other places you can consider...

Went to Miami today and checked out Hugh's detailing and Detail Boutique.
Brandon at Hugh's was out of town and had a lady receptionist, that did not show me any of their work in progress. Also they don't use Expel anymore, instead they use a product by Llumar ????.
Then I went to Detail Boutique and John the owner greeted me and showed me around several million dollars in exotic beauties including a Porsche Ruf 911 (I may have the spelling wrong) worth over a million. He uses the top Xpel PPF product and will do full ceramic, also by my request, he'll do double layer on these areas.
Front Fender vent exit
Front wheel lip and rocker sides
Lower rear rocker
Lower rear quarter panel
Diffuser outer panels (passenger and driver)
Two outer most diffuser flats (passenger and driver).
These areas are the ones that get the most abuse.
I was recommended to do double on these areas from a shop in Texas, that has seen wear on these areas on marketing and engineering cars. The extra layer allows for replacement of high - impact areas without redoing the whole panel and helps prevent paint damage.
Brandon from Hugh's Detailing will be back on Tuesday and will be calling me. I'll probably stop and see him next time I go to Miami.
Also it will cost me 1/2 of what it would cost to haul it to the shop I used in Boca Raton for my GT500.
Thanks for the help,
Lou

:) I hear that guy knows a thing or two about cars.
Sounds like it.
I believe his name is Dave Bannister.
I would have had him do it, but I wanted to take delivery here in the Keys and it would have cost me almost $2000 to ship it here from his shop.
